Garlic Ang Ginger Pasta

I don’t know where this recipe comes from originally but it came to me through my sister-in-law many years ago. I had gone on a quick trip to a friends wedding and while I was staying with my brother and sister-in-law she made me this amazing garlic and ginger pasta. Not only is it so yummy but it is also insanely quick to make, less than 15 minutes quick, which makes it the perfect work night meal.

Garlic and Ginger Pasta

2-3 Tablespoons chopped ginger (a chunk about the size of your thumb)
3-5 Cloves of garlic
3 Tablespoons butter
1-2 Teaspoons hot sauce
2 Teaspoons basil
Cooked pasta for four
Parmesan cheese for garnish

Start the water for your pasta heating, this whole thing comes together while you cook your pasta. I generally use a long pasta but really any shape you have in the house will work great.

I don’t currently have a food processor ( I know, shocking! Honestly though, I miss it so rarely that it doesn’t seem worth the cupboard space) but if you have one you can chop your garlic and ginger in there to save a little time. Otherwise, like me, peel it and then mince it very small with a knife.

In a frying pan over medium low heat melt the butter.

Once the butter is fully melted add all the other ingredients and stir gently to combine them.

Let it simmer and fill your kitchen with the most amazing smells while your pasta finishes cooking.

When your pasta is cooked the way you like it drain it and throw it back into the pot. Remove your sauce from the heat and pour over the cooked pasta. Use tongs or a spoon to evenly distribute all the garlic and ginger goodness through all the pasta.

Top with grated parmesan cheese.

This simple meal is packed with so much flavour and is easy enough to enjoy any time you get the craving. Bon Appétit!
