Paradise House Hotel, Bath

As you know my husband and I recently celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. My husband, researcher that he is, went on a search for highly rated hotels for us to spend some time in and found the Paradise House Hotel in Bath. The rave reviews made him book a night, which was all that was available, to see if our experience would match those that had been there before us.

The front of the building is pretty unassuming and I have to say I was not instantly sold on the place as we rang the bell and waited for the door to open. We were greeted by a friendly and helpful staff member the minute we stepped through and my opinion started to change. After being instructed to leave our bags in the entry way so they could be delivered to our room we were ushered through to the lounge to finish our check in.

We were invited to get comfortable by the fire with the offer of drinks immediately following. Making sure that we had any information about the area that we might want and checking if we needed help or suggestions for dinner reservations they then led us up to our room.

Our luggage was already waiting for us in our quaint and tastefully decorated room. The bathroom had a large tub with some of the nicest smelling bath products I have ever enjoyed in a hotel. The room wasn’t large but had plenty of space to fit our needs, plus the bed was very comfortable.

Set up in the hills around the city centre the hotel boasted a fair amount of property that we felt certain would be even more impressive in the summer months.

From up here we also enjoyed some amazing views of the beautiful city of Bath.

Despite being very quiet and feeling quite secluded you are probably only a 10-15 minute walk from the busy shopping area of Bath and dozens and dozens of restaurants, the cinema and a couple of theatres. We have visited Bath many times before but this was an area we hadn’t spent any time in and it felt as though we discovered hidden gems.

Across the street from the hotel was a fairly expansive park with miles, or so it seemed, of meandering trails that we did some exploring of.

If you are energetic enough to make the climb to the top you find a more landscaped green space that is breathtaking in the morning sun I have to say.

And let’s not forget the stunning unobstructed views below.

If you are in the area, I highly recommend checking into this small but impressive hotel and enjoying not only the city but the area around it, it was the loveliest anniversary getaway and I would go back in a heartbeat.
